San Francisco Maru
The San Francisco Maru was about 385' in length and now sits upright in 185' of water at the sand, with a main deck at about 150'. Sunk by a 500 lb. aerial bomb amidships, it settled stern first with only 5 of it's crew killed. The San Fran is one of the more popular wrecks with three Japanese light Type 95 Ha-Go tanks on forward deck. In the forward hold are stacks of landmines, aerial bombs, tanker trucks and a couple radial aircraft engines. Additionally, there's a nice 3" gun still mounted at the bow. With a 2 hour dive, including an hour of decompression, we didn't have much chance to venture aft.
